About Our Founder

Fighting for What We Believe In. Together.

David Davenport, Executive Director of the Davenport CDC has an extensive career background, having worked for Ford Motor Company for thirty years, with his last six years in Quality Control. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a minor in Non-Profit Management from North Park University. He has substantial experience serving on various nonprofit boards, such as the Salvation Army, Kroc Center Chicago where he served as a Community Liaison, introducing Family Center programs to local churches, organizations, and community groups, contributing to an increase in membership and visibility of the center in neighboring communities.

Additionally, he is a dedicated volunteer chaplain with the Department of Correction and Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago, known for his ability to effectively counsel men and women on practical life lessons. He has also been engaged in a variety of other community initiatives, including working with the Washington Heights Chamber of Commerce, coordinating job fairs with major employers in the area, and actively participating in crime reduction efforts in his community.

David Davenport is married to his wife Anita for 42 years, and together they have four children Jasmine, David Jr, Joshua, and Ayana. In his free time, he enjoys undertaking mission work and traveling.
